Laboratories are receiving up to six times more people interested in testing for Covid antibodies

There has been a significant increase in interest regarding antibody tests for covid-19 in the Czech Republic. This was confirmed by three separate laboratories addressed by Czech Television. People can now find out whether they have asymptomatic coronavirus or if they are carrying sufficient antibodies after having the illness. Researchers at Masaryk University are also working on a study to find out how long such antibodies can protect people from becoming reinfected (in Czech only).

The first scientists have received a GAMU Career Restart grant

Six researchers from Masaryk University (two of them from our faculty!) have now received a Career Restart grant, which was announced by the MU Grant Agency in September. This is a grant for scientists who have interrupted their career in research, perhaps due to parental leave or for other reasons, will be awarded on a regular basis.

After more than a month's journey (thanks to strict quarantine measures), this year’s Masaryk University expedition has arrived to the Johann Gregor Mendel Czech Antarctic Station in James Ross Island, located close to the east coast of the Antarctic Peninsula.

The first scientists have received the MUNI Scientist Award for excellent results in their field

For the first time, the Grant Agency of Masaryk University has presented awards in the new MUNI Scientist competition, which recognises those scientists who have achieved excellence and significant achievements in their research. The first 37 scientists, along with their research teams from workplaces across the university, received their diploma and monetary reward in mid-December.
