Public Economics and Administration
Bachelor's degree in full-time form. The language of instruction is Czech.
The programme can be studied as a single subject or in combination with another programme.
Submission deadline until midnight 28 February 2025.
What will you learn?
The Public Economy and Administration study programme is not only for people interested in working in public administration (at municipal and regional authorities, ministries, and institutions of these offices in operation), but for anyone who wants to understand the relationships between the public and private sectors, whether they later find employment in the private, public, or non-governmental non-profit sector. Students are encouraged to employ critical thinking during their study and strengthen their capacity for analysis and reasoning, gaining a deep knowledge of the system of public finance and administration and on the effective management of public funds, both on the part of public revenues (tax system, the administration of taxes and fees), and on the side of public expenditures in various spheres. Part of this field is also the issue of the non-profit sector, i.e. non-profit studies.

Career opportunities
Typical areas in which graduates find themselves are institutions of a wide variety of sectors in which the public sector has a schare (education, health, culture, municipal services, technical infrastructure, public administration and justice), the entire non-profit sector, respectively. The field of study is designed in such a way that graduate education generally qualifies as a universally applicable economist in public sector institutions, including professions that require autonomy of decision making, initiative, ability to analyze and solve problems, formulate concepts, plan, create and implement projects. Graduates can apply not only as employees of ministries, public administration institutions, territorial self-governing units, but also as consultants, consultants, press spokespersons or experts working in the bodies of the European Union. However, graduating the program does not exclude private sector employment, especially in positions requiring cooperation with the public sector (eg project management).
