Biologists from Masaryk University in Brno found this out during preparation of the Red List of Endangered Habitats in the Czech Republic.

They also carry toxoplasma While it is generally known that ticks carry tick-borne encephalitis and Lyme disease, these are far from the only diseases that ticks can cause in humans. In Brno and its surroundings, scientists have identified six different pathogens in ticks, including anaplasma, babesia and toxoplasma.

Originally from Slovakia, Norbert Werner is coming to south Moravia thanks to a special grant. He will be researching intergalactic gases here and wants to cooperate with Brno companies focused on the space industry.
